Chloe and Kieron’s military day at The Plough Inn in Eaton

Chloe (25) and Kieron (27) were married on 18th May 2018 at The Plough Inn, Eaton. Read on to see pictures and find out more about their special day

How did you meet? Chloe and Kieron knew of each other from school but they officially met six years a go to their wedding day on a night out. Kieron, who works in the military, was home on leave and Chloe, now a midwife, was out with friends celebrating passing her assignments at uni.

The proposal: Kieron proposed on Chloe’s birthday three years later. She recalls: “Kieron had recently been away for a while with work and when he came back he proposed to me at home on my birthday. He had given me my birthday presents but saved the best until last – he had written a few words and then got down on one knee by the Christmas tree. It was the perfect start to my birthday and our 1st Christmas in our new home.”

The stag do: Kieron’s stag do was an activity weekend staying in a log cabin in Ashbourne, including clay pigeon shooting and quad biking

The hen party: Chloe held her hen party at Bredbury Hall in Stockport and it included a naked chocolatier class!

The honeymoon: A mini-moon to Lindos in Rhodes following the wedding and a honeymoon to Portugal in August

Did you have a theme to your wedding? Chloe says: “We chose a rustic theme for our wedding as it complemented our venue, which was a barn. We had a memory table where we put pictures of our loved ones that couldn’t be with us on the day. My mum had also surprised me with the charm from her necklace which contained the ashes of my late grandma, which was also my ‘something blue’.

“Another special touch was having our beloved fur baby with us on the day too. I also had both my dad and my uncle to walk me down the aisle and give me away as my uncle has always been a huge part of my life too.”

Tell us about your dress! “I LOVED my dress,” says Chloe. “I didn’t really know what I wanted when I first started to look so I went with quite an open mind although the dress I chose was not quite what I imagined I would have. My dress was a fitted mermaid style dress with sweetheart neckline; the bodice had lace applique with beads and pearls that sparkled in the light. My dress was also champagne in colour which was a colour I had not thought about before but it suited my skin tone the best. I also added a belt for extra sparkle.”

On the day: “The Plough had everything we wanted – we loved the beams, the fairy lights and how peaceful and calming it felt. It was just the right size for our guests and it felt cosy and intimate.

“We had a civil ceremony with the nicest registrar who completely made our wedding ceremony perfect, adding little details that made it personal to us!

“We wanted a relaxed atmosphere throughout the whole day and for the reception we kept this part of the day quite traditional with a top table and sit down meal. I also made my own scratch cards to win a free drink at the bar. For the evening we had more guests arrive and had hired a candy cart and selfie mirror which the guests loved! We had a DJ and had everybody dancing into the night.”

Chloe continues: “We served Tomato soup to start, a beef dinner with vegetables for main, and chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert. The food at The Plough is amazing and everybody commented on how nice the food was. We also had canapes following the ceremony and had homemade pizza and wedges for the evening.”

Top tips: We chose things that were personal to us as this created a day full of both of our personalities. I also made quite a few things for our wedding which again gave an added personal touch which I loved doing.

What is life like as a married couple: Fab! Although a new name and a new title has taken some getting used too!”
