Drayton Manor Park in Staffordshire marks 10 years of Thomas Land in 2018 – the only one of its kind in Europe. LIVING went along to enjoy the celebrations
“I haven’t visited Drayton Manor Park before so was quite surprised to find the atmosphere so great. It’s quite compact – unlike a lot of other theme parks – so you really get a sense of fun and enjoyment without it feeling too busy. There are plenty of rides available that are suitable for the whole family. There were big rides for the thrill seekers and medium-sized rides for the not so brave as well as Thomas Land with rides aimed at young children.

“We were really pleased with Thomas Land and the rides available. With this being the first theme park my nephew had been to he was quite apprehensive at first to go on the rides, but even within Thomas Land there was still a good variety of rides for him to go on and enjoy. Definitely something for everyone. It’s also filled with Thomas-themed stuff perfect for the little Thomas fan he is. Safety and cleanliness around the park seems to be a priority which was also a big plus.
“It also has a zoo which he loved, especially the tiger! To add to all of this there is also an amusement arcade, a cinema, loads of shops, a soft play area and a good variety of places to eat.
“The park does have a lot to offer so I would say overall it is good value for money – especially as you can get packages such as parent and toddler tickets – making your trip even cheaper. However, I felt the food was a little over priced but you can take your own food and there are plenty of picnic areas to enjoy it which could save money if you were on a tight budget.”
