The Proposal: Craig proposed to Sarah on 13th June 2013, during a summer holiday to Great Yarmouth. “We were on holiday and he proposed on our 3rd year anniversary. We walked past a jewellery shop and he looked at me and said, ‘shall we go in?’ and I said ‘what for?’ Craig then said ‘Will you marry me?”

Wedding Theme: The wedding had a distinctive blue theme, which was evident throughout the decoration of the venue. The groomsmen wore blue ties and grey three-piece suits, while Craig opted for a classic blue suit with the matching tie. The flower girls wore sashes to match Craig. Sarah had stunning blue satin heeled shoes with crystal encrusted heels and the bridesmaids wore dresses in a beautiful aqua shade to match the venue dressing.

Special Touches: Sarah and Craig were able to take advantage of the venue’s wonderful moated grounds for plenty of pictures. They also had a “star light backdrop,” which decorated the evening celebrations superbly. The three-tiered white iced wedding cake was decorated with blue hearts and intricate detailing and had an impressive blue and white heart topper.

The Dress: Sarah describes her dress as a “lovely elegant strapless dress with a little bit of bling.” She found her stunning white gown at Jeneve Bridal in Bloxwich. It had a beautiful long train, with crystals sewn into the bodice. She accessorised with a simple pendant necklace and bracelet on each wrist and a wonderful tiara in her hair, which she wore up with two side plaits.

The Venue: The Moat House at Acton Trussell is a 14th Century manor house hotel and reception venue nestled in the stunning Staffordshire countryside, close to Penkridge train station and surrounded by the natural beauty of Canock Chase. “An amazing venue with amazing views and perfect picture opportunities. The staff at The Moat House go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need.”

The Food: Sarah and Craig opted for a traditional wedding breakfast beautifully prepared by The Moat House on the day. Their delicious menu comprised off caramelised onion and goats cheese tart to start, chicken wrapped in ham, served with potatoes and vegetables for a main course, and a chocolate torte for pudding. “Our food was outstanding – lovely starters, main and pudding and enough to fill you up.”

The Reception & Evening Do: Sarah and Craig stayed at The Moat House for their evening do, which was planned with the help of the wedding team at The Moat House. “The DJ that came with the package at The Moat House was outstanding, he had a great selection of songs and he played whatever you asked for.” Their first dance song was “Thinking out Loud,” by Ed Sheeran.
