The Donna Louise exhibit art therapy display at Waitrose Uttoxeter to support local families
Artwork created by children, young adults and their families at The Donna Louise is now on display at Waitrose in Uttoxeter. The pieces of art were all produced during art therapy sessions at The Donna Louise.
Regional Fundraiser for The Donna Louise, Chris Belyavin, explained: “Art therapy is a really important way for the children, young adults and their families to express their feelings in a creative way and is offered to every family who spends time at the Hospice.
“Alongside each piece in the display is a brief description about who has created it and it’s great to be able to share them with Waitrose’s shoppers.”
One local shopper contacted The Donna Louise to say: “I’ve just got got back from visiting my local Waitrose store in Uttoxeter after seeing your truly amazing display of images from your art therapy work. You have some amazing children the drawings are fantastic. It’s the first time I have seen your charity and I wanted to let you know the impact the display had, and now I am off to make a donation.”
The collection of artwork will be on display in the Trinity Road store until after Easter. Shoppers can support local families by buying one of the prints for a minimum donation of just £5.
The Donna Louise offers a wide range of care and respite services for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. The hospice relies, almost entirely, on the generosity of local supporters and businesses to be able to continue its services.
