You might be fond of a few DIY cocktails at home. But if you’d rather leave the mixing to the experts then why not head out to enjoy a summer cocktail in Staffordshire?  Enjoy a catch-up with friends at one of these venues offering the perfect surroundings for those summer socials.

1. The Swan Hotel, Stafford

Being right in the middle of the high street, the Swan is a perfect place to enjoy a summer cocktail in Staffordshire. The historic building, where Charles Dickens once stayed, boasts an endless choice of drinks. There is a huge array of craft beers, such as Goose Island Honkers and Blue Moon, an extensive gin menu and cocktails galore. An outside decking area at the rear provides the perfect place for a summer catch-up.

2. Le Reve, Lichfield

In the heart of the city, Le Reve promises uniquely created cocktails incorporating local and seasonal ingredients. There’s an extensive menu but the team can also get creative if customers want to go off-menu. The bar also offer cocktail masterclasses so you can perfect your mixing skills ready for any social occasion.

3. The Pour House, Shrewsbury

This coffee bar-by-day and cocktail bar-by-night has such a huge choice of cocktails and fruity coolers that it’s an obvious choice for a catch-up drink. It boasts an extensive gin menu, sparkling cocktails, such as a bellini, shorts such as ‘We’re Bringing Sherry Back’, and quirky long drinks, including ‘Stevie’s Wonder‘ made with white rum, apricot liqueur, cointreau, cavaldos, cranberry juice, lime, sugar and soda.

Not only that there’s a choice of martinis and frozen drinks, which are perfect for the summer, including ‘Netflix and Banoffee Chill‘, featuring vanilla ice-cream, rum, banana liqueur, caramel, milk and cream. There’s also an extensive list of non-alcoholic cocktails, including ‘Guava slushy’, the usual spirits, ciders and beers and even a gluten-free lager to try.

4. The Stafford Arms, Bagnall, Stoke-on-Trent

With its gin bar, cocktail and mocktail menus and extensive wine list, this independently-owned pub is a perfect place if you want lots of choice or have a party with differing tastes. It’s also in a great village location which makes it an ideal option if you want to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Customers can often be found basking in the sunshine on the village green during the summer months.

5. The Bear coffee house, kitchen and bar, Uttoxeter

This venue offers speciality coffee, signature cocktails and craft beer. Cocktails include the ‘Parma Violet Spritz‘, but those looking for a more non-alcoholic variety are in for a treat with the range of fruit smoothies, iced teas, iced coffees, shakes and mocktails. Opened by two local entrepreneurs the Bear family has grown and now boasts four venues, including one in nearby Stone.

6. Cleo’s of Ironbridge

The most scenic of places to catch up with a summer cocktail. Sitting close to the iconic bridge itself you can really soak up the tranquil atmosphere and stunning views – as you soak up a beverage too. With an extensive choice of cocktails what’s not to love?
