About The Boat Inn

Based in the cathedral city of Lichfield, The Boat Inn offers a fine dining experience within the confines of a comfortable, classic rustic pub.

The varied menu is sure to be a culinary delight for both casual diners and lovers of exquisite gastronomy alike. Expect mouthwatering starters such as Dorset crab with Kohl Rabi to Barbecued Beef Fillet for a main, but make sure to also save room for sumptuous desserts like the Custard Crème Brulee.

And it is worth noting that the delicious ingredients that go into these expertly crafted dishes are all locally sourced including the home-bred chickens and pigs.

Since taking over in 2018, Head Chef and owner Liam Dillon has easily climbed the ladder of culinary achievement from a wealth of experience at restaurants such as Eleven Madison Park in New York and Noma in Copenhagen to name just two.

The main focus of the pub was to create a mix of innovative quality dishes as well as a modern approach to all the pub classics. Chef Dillon has done just that and was recently awarded ‘Newcomer of the Year’ at the Top 50 Gastropub Awards.

His progressive approach to fine dining has also amassed further accolades including the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence, Taste of Staffordshire Winner and the Midlands Food and Drink Awards.
