Find out what’s happening at the Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley in the run-up to Christmas
Head down to the MAC in Hanley this winter for an array of entertainment. You can experience theatre favourites, like pantomime, musicals, and family-friendly shows, as well as classic and children’s film screenings. Plus, with live showings from the likes of the Royal Opera House and The National Theatre, plus, live music – including original and tribute performances – and dance productions, there’s something for all to enjoy.

An NT Live screening of Present Laughter recorded live at the Old Vic starring Andrew Scott (Fleabag, Sherlock) as Garry Essendine.
Synopsis: As he prepares to embark on an overseas tour, Garry Essendine’s colourful life is in danger of spiralling out of control. Engulfed by an escalating identity crisis as his many and various relationships compete for his attention, Garry’s few remaining days at home are a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic and soul-searching.

MAC Scratch Night
26 November 2019, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
The MAC host a night of new work from the most exciting artists in the region. In this scratch night, a mix of performers, writers and theatre makers will have the chance to try out new ideas in front of a receptive audience. Artists at any stage of their career can benefit from sharing and experimenting in front of a relaxed, supportive audience. Audiences get a fantastic chance to see a mix of performance experiments and a unique chance help develop them into the next big thing. And what’s more, this is a pay what you decide event so book your FREE tickets for the day and pay what you decide at the end of the event.

Following the success of Cinderella in 2018 TLC Pantomimes are back with Aladdin. The Panto also features the ‘Hanley Babes’.
