It’s that time of year again and if you’re hoping to impress that special someone with a Valentine’s Day meal in Staffordshire, we’re here to help! Here’s our great selection of restaurants to choose from.

1. The Terrazza Restaurant, Rugeley

If you love Italian food but you’re looking for somewhere you can enjoy a more authentic Italian selection, this is the ideal place to enjoy a candle-lit dinner on Valentine’s Day – just remember to book in advance!

The Terrazza brings the kind of quality and sophistication which is preferred for a special occasion. You’ll be offered a warm welcome and staff have plenty of expert advice if you’re hoping to try something new and a little more adventurous.

The aesthetics of this traditional family-run restaurant carry you away to Italy and there is a very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

The Valentine’s menu offers three courses for £35 per person, plus: enjoy two oysters and a glass of Prosecco on arrival for an additional £8 per person.

2. Orangery Restaurant, The Moat House Hotel, Acton Trussell

This award-winning restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience; the magnificence of the setting next to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal coupled with a menu bursting with flavour.

For Valentine’s Day, this venue is offering a five-course menu, priced at £70 per person. The menu includes a tempting crispy char sui pork shoulder terrine, lobster and crab ‘mac cheese’, porter house steak and miso glazed cod loin to name a few.

If you can’t get a table for Valentine’s Day, the Afternoon Tea here is also definitely worth a visit!

3. Aston Marina, Stone

Aston Marina prides itself on serving the finest locally sourced ingredients and the marina’s award-winning kitchen team create dishes that evoke seasonal flavours. It’s set on the banks of the pretty Trent & Mersey canal, just outside of Stone.

With plenty to suit all tastes, vegetarian and gluten free options are always available.

4. Pascal at The Old Vicarage, Burton upon Trent

Pascal offers fine English cuisine with a French twist, served in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. For a 5 star treat, this is the place to go. Expect cocktails and canapés – with friendly service and a faultless dining experience.

It doesn’t appear there is a special event for Valentine’s Day, but with treats like bread and butter pudding, scallops, steak and regular French cuisine evenings, you won’t be disappointed. On February 28 the restaurant is also hosting a Spanish and Italian Gourmet Evening. Details on the website.

5. Marloes Restaurant, Newcastle-under-Lyme

Known for its excellent steaks and lamb shank, Marloes Restaurant offers quality homely cooking with traditional British favourites, along with a good selection of chef’s specials. This quiet, intimate restaurant spans two floors and is ideal for couples rather than families.

A fan favourite is the crayfish and chorizo risotto starter. This is another very popular restaurant that should be booked in advance for special occasions.
