Fiskars Store Press Release (2)

A real treat for the Christmas Shoppers of Stoke arrives at World of Wedgwood

A brand-new store has opened in Barlaston celebrating the stunning array of global lifestyle brands owned by Wedgwood’s parent company Fiskars

World of Wedg wood warmly welcomes the Fiskars Store to their tourist destination in Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent. The store, which is the first of its kind, replaces the former Factory Outlet and promises a bigger selection of reduced-price product from the much-loved iconic lifestyle brands under the Fiskars ownership, including Wedgwood, Waterford, Royal Doulton and Royal Albert. The store will also house full priced product from its sister brands, giving guests a rare opportunity to shop long-established brands rarely seen outside of the big London department stores, including Iittala and Royal Copenhagen. The brands bring a huge variety of lifestyle categories to the area; aside from it’s better-known tableware and glassware, you’ll also be able to shop decorative objects, gardening tools, cookware, Nordic styles and even multi-tools.

Director of Consumer Sales, Mike Powell, comments ‘The newly refurbished Fiskars Store has been created to bring a much wider representation of the Fiskars portfolio to the World of Wedgwood. For the first time you will find Iittala, Royal Copenhagen, Gerber, Norden cookware, along with Fiskars cookware and Garden products, under one roof. Royal Doulton and Royal Albert have a much larger representation in the new location whilst we have also retained our Outlet priced Wedgwood and Waterford ranges within the store.’

Fiskars acquired the estate and World of Wedgwood in 2015 and the new multi-brand store has been a long-awaited concept. It comes at an exciting time for the World of Wedgwood as the last year has seen considerable expansion and development for the much-loved attraction.

This time last year, Two Michelin star, celebrity Chef Niall Keating opened his restaurant ‘Lunar’ at the site in partnership with The Great British Experience Company, they celebrate their first birthday alongside the popular artisanal store, Josiah & Co which stocks the handcrafted goods of over 40 local makers in Staffordshire. Local distillery, Sixtowns, will add to the courtyard offering when they open their doors over the coming weeks; offering a cocktail bar, gin school, shop and distillery tours.

The Fiskars Store is another impressive addition to the gold award-winning tourist attraction, joining the beautiful Wedgwood Tea Room, Wedgwood Store, Creative Studios, the V&A Wedgwood Collection galleries and of course the 1940’s Wedgwood Factory, where you can see the prestige and jasperware pieces being made. Immerse yourself in the story of creativity and innovation and visit World of Wedgwood. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am – 5pm in Barlaston, Staffordshire, ST12 9BR.
