Una at home launches Aware® Breast Self-Exam Pad to dramatically improve lump detection during routine breast checks at home.
Available now on the Una at home online shop, the Aware® Breast Self-Exam pad is the first product of its kind to be launched in the UK. Unique skin-safe membranes allow the pad to glide smoothly over the surface of the skin enhancing your touch, and potentially dramatically improving your chance of detecting a lump of change in the feel of your breasts.
Already launched in the US with FDA approval, this product is suitable for women of all ages including those with augmented breasts post-mastectomy and
who are breastfeeding.
Regular breast checks should be undertaken monthly in the week following your period for the best results, but statistics from YouGov suggesting that at least one in 5 women hadn’t checked their breasts in the last year. This is despite breast cancer being one of the most common cancers in the UK.
Not only can the aware Breast Self-Exam pad improve detection, but it can also serve as a great reminder to carry out a regular check. The pad is low cost, and reusable for up to 18 months, making it an ideal part of regular self-care routines.
Early detection is the key to improving the chance of survival from all cancers, including breast, and also supports reducing the burden on the NHS by reducing potential interventions if the disease is caught early enough.
