Little Seeds in Stone, Staffordshire was opened by Jake Lowndes and Sophie Hardman in June of 2016 with an aim to offer seasonal British food with personal friendly service. In December of 2022 it was announced that Little Seeds was to be included in the 2023 Michelin Guide. The guide is a list of the best places to eat across 30 territories and three continents.
The inspectors review for Little Seeds reads: “Little Seeds has a bright, fresh, natural look with green walls, foliage and rustic upcycled furniture. A smattering of cookery books adds to the homely fee and there’s a walled garden and drinks terrace out the back too. Great quality regional ingredients are used to create eye-catching British dishes with the occasional playful touch. The popular Sunday lunch menu features Staffordshire beef.”
The couple say that being added to this prestigious guide is amazing and they can’t quiet believe they are listed amongst some of their favourite restaurants. Since the restaurants addition to the guide the restaurant has seen a flurry of new guests wanting to try what this small independent restaurant has to offer.
The aim for the restaurant now is to continue to delivery high quality British food with a twist, using a mixture of local ingredients, foraged and homegrown goods. The restaurant feels it is very important to work with suppliers who are like minded and passionate about what they do. Little Seeds has a beautiful drinks and dining terrace to the rear of the restaurant that is used throughout the year to add to the experience. The garden is due to reopen in Spring 2023 and allows guests to emerge themselves in the dining experience, whilst relaxing with a glass of English sparkling wine you can see and smell the herbs and flowers, grown by the team of chefs that have inspired and are being used to flavour the dishes you are about to experience.
