The New Vic’s festive theatrical playground for young audience members and their families, Tale Trail, returns this Christmas themed around the classic story of The Nutcracker.
This year’s interactive adventure Tale Trail to The Nutcracker invites three to five-year-olds to experience the magic of storytelling from Wednesday 13 to Saturday 30 December. Using the power of imagination families are invited to explore a sensory winter wonderland, venturing through the Kingdom of Sweets to find the Sugar Plum Fairy who lives at the top of the Christmas tree and help the Nutcracker Prince get home.
Specifically created with the youngest audience members in mind, this is a joyful journey of sugar-spun discovery filled with delightful surprises where little creative minds are free to roam and take their own steps.
Inclusive and accessible, this is a fantastic introduction to theatre for preschoolers and their families.
Director of Tale Trail to The Nutcracker, Becky Salt, said: “This production invites our youngest audiences to step inside the wonders of Christmas, transporting them into the world of the story, meeting the characters and allowing them to feel, look, and listen. Inspired by the musical score of Tchaikovsky, this performance will explore the narrative in a playful and engaging way, with an aim of being all-inclusive and accessible.”
Tale Trail to The Nutcracker will be performed in the Studio at the New Vic Theatre from Wednesday 13 to Saturday 30 December 2023. Tickets are on sale now priced at £10.00 and are available to buy from the Box Office, by calling 01782 717962, or online at newvictheatre.org.uk.
