A distinguished Grade II listed manor in Seisdon, Staffordshire, has been deftly restored and extended by Tom Turner Architects.
Dating back to the 16th century, with extensions in the 17th and 19th centuries, The Old Manor House has a rich history, including ownership by the Wrottesley family for over 300 years. Notably, the property features a rare dining room fireplace with a window above it, one of the few remaining in the country.
The recent project, initiated by developer Austin & Co., focused on restoring the building and replacing a 20th-century conservatory with a contemporary kitchen extension that harmonises with the building’s historic architecture. The new design draws inspiration from the Victorian additions, ensuring the extension complements the original structure while providing modern functionality.
This restoration not only preserves the architectural integrity of The Old Manor House but also adapts it to meet the needs of contemporary family life. By enhancing the property’s usability and aesthetic appeal, the project ensures that this historic residence will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
