UK is running out of time to preserve our vital ceramics industry, says GMB.
GMB Union has today responded to the news that ceramic manufacturer Portmeirion plans to make redundancies at their Stoke-On-Trent site.
Sam Warburton, GMB Organiser, said:
“Thousands of jobs rely on the ceramics industry, as do products and manufacturers across the supply chain.
“This is yet more evidence that we need urgent Government action, starting with bringing down the eye watering energy bills faced by the sector.
“We will stand by our members at Portmeirion to resit these job losses, but we must also see Government step in with a plan to save the Pots”.
