A former insurance broker’s building is set to be transformed into premium workspaces, thanks to Staffordshire entrepreneur Alastair Machin.
The property developer and owner of Chaffinch has purchased the former Rawlins Commercial Insurance premises in Porthill in a three-figure deal.
The 6,500 square feet Georgian property, known as Ravenscliffe, located on First Avenue, has been vacant for the past 12 months.
The three-storey building features 42 parking spaces and ample room for 17 serviced offices or professional working spaces, suitable for various businesses, including health and wellbeing clinics.
The redesigned space will include a welcoming reception area, shared kitchen facilities, modern meeting rooms, and access to high-speed broadband. Additionally, plans include an outdoor terrace and a community lounge.
An interior designer has been appointed to revitalise the space. The original Minton tiles in the reception area are also set to be restored to their former glory.
Work has already started to refurbish the property, with a new roof and windows currently being installed. Internal renovations will begin soon, with completion expected in Autumn. Once finished, the building will achieve a Grade B EPC rating, which is high efficiency for the age of the building.
