The impact was immediate. Buildings were flooded, facilities left unusable, and the entire team faced the reality of an unexpected closure.
Remarkably, Moddershall Oaks fully reopened in just five weeks, far sooner than anyone thought possible.
Now, one year on, Moddershall Oaks is reflecting on that chapter with deep gratitude. What felt like devastation at the time has become part of its identity, a reminder of the strength of its people and the incredible support of the local community.
Despite the setback, Moddershall Oaks’ focus was immediate, supporting guests, rescheduling weddings, and relocating events. Perishable food was donated to local food banks, and against all odds, weddings scheduled just weeks later, went ahead as planned.
The wider restoration took immense effort. With the dedication of staff, contractors, and the local community, weeks of cleaning, repairing, and reinforcing the property followed.
One year on, Moddershall Oaks stands stronger, safer, and more committed than ever to creating exceptional experiences for its guests.

Less than six months after reopening, Moddershall Oaks unveiled its new Woodland Pods (pictured right), unique accommodation that blends modern comforts with the tranquillity of the Staffordshire countryside for adults and families. This development marked not only a milestone in expansion but also a symbol of resilience and forward momentum.
