Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan visits Blue Cross Rolleston

Author and Loose Women presenter, Coleen Nolan, paid a special visit to national pet charity Blue Cross’s Rolleston rehoming centre, accompanied by her daughter Ciara. During their visit they met a number of pets, including a horse named Jammie, and two Shetland ponies called Mona and Inka, as well as many others.

Coleen, who has over 30 pets, including two horses, cats, dogs and chickens, spent the day on site, touring the centre and meeting Blue Cross staff, as well as the pets looking for new homes. She was particularly excited to meet a nine-year-old horse called Jammie. Gentle and friendly Jammie was clearly a fan of Coleen and was soon enjoying head scratches and a cuddle with the presenter, he later joined Coleen and Ciara for a walk in from the field. In addition to Jammie, Coleen was delighted to spend time with Shetland ponies Inka, eleven-years-old, and Mona, sixteen-years-old. Both horses had been with Blue Cross for 193 days and had received an offer of adoption shortly before Coleen’s visit.

After her visit, Coleen said: “We had an incredible day visiting Blue Cross’s Rolleston Rehoming Centre. We met so many beautiful horses and ponies – from Shires to Shetlands – and every single one captured our hearts. The passion and care the team puts into giving horses a second chance is truly inspiring. If you’re thinking about rehoming a horse or pet, or are looking to support a charity, please consider Blue Cross, the fantastic work they do really is life-changing for the animals in their care.”

Maria Kavanagh, Centre Manager at Blue Cross in Rolleston said: “It was such a pleasure for me, the team, and the lovely pets in our care to have met Coleen and Ciara. We had a wonderful time showing them around the centre and introducing them to the horses who were looking for new homes.”
