A Leek brand we’ve featured before has been named one of the UK’s best CBD oils for 2026 by The Independent.
Unspun, the Leek CBD brand run by Gemma and Joe Wilde, has been named one of the best CBD oils in the UK by The Independent.
We have featured the couple before, so it is good to see a local brand picked out nationally. Their Broad Spectrum oil was chosen by IndyBest, The Independent’s product-review team, in its round-up of the country’s best CBD oils for 2026. They praised it for carrying a genuine range of the hemp plant’s natural compounds rather than the token amounts found with many brands, describing a product that “delivers what broad-spectrum [CBD] is supposed to be”, with “a pleasant earthy flavour that goes down easily”.
Gemma and Joe started Unspun in Leek after returning from California, and make just 3 products, each independently tested with the results published. They also publish a lot of educational content on their blog, the Unspun Edit.
“I won’t pretend to play it cool,” said Joe Wilde. “Getting picked by a name like The Independent and being chosen as one of the best is a big deal for us.”
