We are thrilled to announce that Charles Hanson, one of Britain’s most beloved auctioneers and antiques experts, is joining the Staffordshire Living family as our new monthly columnist.

With his infectious enthusiasm and encyclopaedic knowledge of antiques, Charles has become a familiar face to millions through his regular appearances on BBC’s Bargain Hunt and Antiques Road Trip. But beyond the television cameras, he runs his own successful auction house, Hansons Auctioneers, right here in Derbyshire, where he’s been helping people discover the hidden treasures in their attics and cupboards for years.

Each month, Charles will be sharing his expert insights into the world of antiques and collectables, offering tips on what to look for at local auctions, revealing the stories behind extraordinary finds, and helping readers understand the value of items they might have tucked away at home. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply curious about that inherited piece gathering dust in the spare room, Charles’s column promises to be both enlightening and entertaining.

We couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Charles to Staffordshire Living, and we’re certain our readers will enjoy his warmth, expertise, and passion for all things antique. Get ready to see the extraordinary in the everyday – your monthly journey into the fascinating world of antiques starts here.
