Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat, Staffordshire’s leading spa destination, is thrilled to announce its reopening on Friday 25th October after completing significant repairs and refurbishment following a temporary closure caused by severe flash flooding and mud slides. The unprecedented weather event, which occurred on Saturday, 21st September, was the worst in the family-run business’s 24-year history and has been labelled as a ‘once in 105-year event’ by flood experts.
The major impact of the flood damage affected the retreats’ grounds, and the onsite restaurant The Oak House, and kitchen. Alongside an army of contractors, the Moddershall Oaks team have worked around the clock to restore the property to the relaxing, tranquil space that has hosted so many memorable occasions over the years.
Throughout the closure, damaged walls, flooring, decking and tiling have been removed and repaired, furniture has been rebuilt, and electrics have replaced. Externally, there has been jet washing, landscaping, repointing and resurfacing as well as new astroturf laid for outdoor event space. Deep cleaning and safety checks have been regularly carried out to ensure that the spa is opening at the highest hygiene and safety levels.
Moddershall Oaks has long been the go-to destination of those seeking indulgent spa experiences, weddings and special occasions. After a closure lasting almost 5 weeks, the team at Moddershall Oaks are delighted to be once again welcoming back all spa day, spa evening and overnight spa guests. To celebrate the reopening, the spa is offering a limited-edition Winter Sparkle package complete with exclusive treatments and complimentary add-ons, designed to elevate the feeling of luxury and indulgence.
Whilst the Oak House Restaurant will be open to spa guests during their visits from Friday 25th October, the restaurant and Balcony Bar will fully reopen to external diners and drinkers from Friday 1st November, where guests can enjoy a brand-new Autumn/Winter menu, featuring new seasonal dishes and locally sourced produce.
Penny Weston, Director of Moddershall Oaks, commented “We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from the community, local businesses, and guests during this challenging 5 weeks. Our focus throughout this time has been not only repairing, but enhancing the spa facilities, to ensure that when we reopened, we could offer an experience that feels as luxurious and relaxing as our guests have come to expect from us. The flooding was a completely unprecedented event for us, and we are excited to finally reopen our doors, and welcome our guests back. We look forward to being part of their special occasions once again”
