SureCare Stoke-on-Trent are a new care provider based in Stoke-on-Trent supporting people in Staffordshire. SureCare offer home care support for anyone who may have one of a variety of care needs to either help them live at home independently and or socialise in their community.
We provide a wide range of support to people in Staffordshire, from home help, personal care, companionship, assistance with daily tasks such as shopping, appointments, attending functions or groups and accessing the community. We can support clients on different funding streams and also offer expert advice to people accessing support from local authorities as well as signposting to other services and facilities.
As the population of older adults continues to grow, the demand for quality care services that cater to their unique needs is becoming increasingly important. SureCare launching a new day opportunity service for older adults can meet this demand while providing essential support to families and enhancing the quality of life for seniors in the community.
Older adults often face challenges such as social isolation, health issues, and the need for assistance with daily activities. Many seniors wish to maintain their independence while receiving the support they require. SureCare/our day opportunity services can bridge this gap by offering a safe and engaging environment where older adults can participate in various activities, receive care, and socialise with peers.
Research indicates that social interaction is crucial for mental health and overall well-being in older adults. By creating a space where people can connect with others, we can help combat feelings of loneliness and depression. Additionally, structured activities can stimulate cognitive function and promote physical health, making day opportunity services a vital component of community care.
Our Day Opportunities are based all over Staffordshire in, hotels, theatres, supported living facilities and a cosy pub. Venues are considered with older adults in mind, including wheelchair accessibility, safety features, and comfortable seating areas. A welcoming atmosphere can significantly impact the overall experience for participants, making them feel valued and cared for.
Transport can be arranged to and from the Day Opportunity and they are from 10:00 – 14:00. A delicious hot meal is provided and refreshments throughout the day. Our current day opportunities are in multiple venues across Stoke, Newcastle and Stone with more venues opening in the new year.
We have an exciting programme of activities including indoor sports, exercise sessions and art workshops by a local artist, Kate Windsor.
Our trained professionals who understand the unique needs of older adults is essential working in partnership with activity co-ordinators, trained instructors and local artists and experts in their field. Our specially trained care staff can provide support and help monitor and improve their well-being. With ongoing training and development opportunities for our staff, we ensure that they remain knowledgeable about best practices in elder care. We invest in our staff to provide them the best opportunities and work-life balance to retain staff allowing our clients to build supportive relationships with their carers providing relationship-led care.
While providing the best work environment for our staff we are also working at how we can create new roles that help support people to get back into the workplace, removing the barriers that more traditional roles have. To do this SureCare are working with the DWP on providing work experience and training placements for people in our community wanting to get back to work or career changes.
We aim for our Day Opportunities to become an holistic part of our clients weekly or daily health and care support. All clients are assessed prior to attending our Day Opportunities so that we can identify the right group for them. Some clients require more support at the Day Opportunities in relation to medication, mobility and personal care, all of which can be provided by SureCare.
Where possible we want to work with families and identify further areas where we can support outside of our Day Opportunities with our Home Care, Appointments and Occasions and Respite services.
We are also working with our community. This service is creating job opportunities within the community, from hiring staff to collaborating with local businesses for supplies and services. We have built great relationships very quickly with the DWP, Staffordshire University, attending their graduate career days, Coppers Croft who are hosting one of Day Opportunities in one of their beautiful lounge areas.
