Made with locally sourced cheese Fox’s lamb shank Shepard’s pie is a standout dish: filling, delicious and perfectly seasoned. (My husband said it was the best thing he had eaten in a very long time) the perfectly cooked steaks with sides such as truffle home-made chips are a crowd-pleaser, with tender meat and vibrant flavours. Vegetarians are also well-catered, with seasonal dishes that highlight the best of local produce. The dessert menu is equally tempting, with options like the indulgent Eton Mess and a signature Cheesecake, and if you have room left we indulged in a cheeseboard providing the perfect ending following the Eton Messes sweet ending to a memorable meal. The Cheese is also locally sourced. Finishing off with our Calypso coffees. The atmosphere was friendly the staff were attentive especially Mark the general manager and the lovely Grace for reception who was helpful, providing us with lots of information
The drinks menu, too, is well-curated, offering a range of local ales, craft cocktails, and an extensive wine list. The bar area is stylish yet relaxed, making it a great spot to unwind after a meal or socialize with friends.

The hotel has plenty of parking is easy to find and the rooms were very comfortable. There is an ongoing schedule of upgrades going on across the hotel to bring everything up to date, this is now being carried out discreetly in the background, so it going to get even better.
