Our Story – A historical estate full of heart
Set within private landscaped gardens and open parkland in rural Staffordshire, Alrewas Hayes is a picturesque country estate steeped in history but infused with a contemporary twist. Dating back to the early 18th Century, it has been the residence of five generations of the Williams family and our heritage remains at its heart. From welcoming you through the doors at your first viewing, to waving you goodbye as newlyweds, our small but passionate team will bring you the welcoming warmth of a family home.
Our Venue
Possessing a flourish of period touches, the Orangery is a space which will bring an air of elegance to any occasion. With its distinctive curved ceiling, arched windows and doors which lead out to The Courtyard, this room will bathe your ceremony in beautiful, natural light… the perfect location to say ‘I do!’.
Once you’ve walked hand in hand down the aisle as a married couple, there are endless photo opportunities to explore and capture those memories. At the heart of Alrewas Hayes lies The Courtyard. A peaceful oasis which offers seclusion among the delicate scent of French lavender, English roses, and silver birch trees. In the summer and autumn months, our stretch tent with festoon lighting is the perfect space for your guests to enjoy canapes, fizz, and garden games whilst you explore the grounds with your photographer.
Moving through for your wedding breakfast with a view, the Lakeside overlooks our private lake, with wheat fields and woodlands beyond. A whitewashed canvas with chandeliers, festoon lighting and eucalyptus and ivy foliage, whether your style is wild and whimsical or stylishly structured, the Lakeside can lend itself to any color scheme or styling trend. With a stage, dancefloor and state of the art sound system, it will then transform into an atmospheric star-lit party space, ready for dancing the night away.
Accessed via its own private walkway, The Great Barn is the largest of our event rooms accommodating events from 180-650 guests. Reminiscent of a cool airport hangar from the outside, yet sleek and contemporary on the inside, it’s a place where the unimaginable is possible. Equipped with its own bar, stage, and state of the art wall mapping technology, you can turn the Great Barn into anything you may wish, from a winter wonderland to a magical forest.
Completing the Alrewas Hayes experience, our 11 boutique style guest bedrooms offer a uniquely personal stay. Located across our Main House, Lodge and Coach House, each room has been created with its own story in mind, harmoniously blending contemporary style with the elegance expected of a country retreat. All with beautifully styled ensuite bathrooms, these bedrooms offer the perfect place to rest your head at the end of the evening.
Our Food
We understand how integral the wedding breakfast is for your special day and how exciting food and drink experiences can turn an ordinary event into something extraordinary. Our menus are inspired by seasonal dishes that bring out the beauty in every ingredient. Cooked by our highly trained head chef and his expert team, every dish we bring to the table has been created by foodies, for foodies.
Alrewas Hayes’ favorites include our slow cooked pulled pork bao buns for a relaxed, evening street food vibe, and our fillet of Staffordshire grass fed beef topped with a wild mushroom gratin, celeriac puree, thyme roasted potato and red wine jus for something more refined. We also offer innovative menus to accommodate vegans, vegetarians, and those with specific dietary requirements.
