County council backs Stefan and Denise to win Britain’s Got Talent

Staffordshire County Council wishes employee Stefan Andrusyschyn, and his wife Denise, the best of luck ahead of their performance in the live Britain’s Got Talent semi-final tonight.

The pair – both registered blind – dazzled judges in their audition, which saw Stefan play the piano as Denise sang a spellbinding rendition of ‘Climb Every Mountain’ from The Sound of Music.

Stefan supports children and families with visual impairments across Staffordshire as a Vision Inclusion Role Model for the county council.

Ahead of the semi-final, Stefan said: “Tonight’s show is completely live in front of five and a half thousand people at the Hammersmith Apollo and a TV audience of about seven million. I’m trying not to think about it but, I mean, it’s the only thing I’m thinking about!

“It’s going to be flashier and louder and there’s a visual that they’ve created to go along with it, which I’m told is amazing. I mean, in fairness, they could tell me anything.

“Hopefully, it’ll be something people can relate to and people will vote for us to get into the final.”

Neelam Bhardwaja, Staffordshire County Council’s director for children and families, said: “I was absolutely thrilled to learn of Stefan and Denise’s success at the Britain’s Got Talent contest and wish them the best of luck for tonight’s live show.

“Stefan’s hard work achieves excellent outcomes for young people with visual impairments across Staffordshire. He truly is an asset to children and family services.”

Tim Moss, Staffordshire County Council’s Assistant Director for Education Strategy and Improvement, said: “I am really looking forward to watching Stefan and Denise’s performance in the live semi-final tonight and wish them good luck.

“I urge everyone to show their support for them because they are a great example to us all and fantastic role models to those who are blind or partially sighted.

“I’m sure many of the children and young people Stefan supports through his role with us will see that vision impairment is no barrier to achieving your dreams.”

You will be able to watch Stefan and Denise’s performance in the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-final on ITV tonight (Friday 30 May) at 8pm.

During the show, viewers will be asked to vote for which act they want to keep in the competition. To help Stefan and Denise make the final, you can register online for five free votes.

We can’t wait to see their performance and wish them both the best of luck!
