Residents are being urged to apply to the Staffordshire Warmer Homes Scheme to improve their home heating, as the scheme will close on 18 October.
This scheme has been instrumental in combating fuel poverty across the county, helping residents heat their homes more efficiently and affordably.
Since its inception, the Staffordshire Warmer Homes Scheme has assisted 1,063 households and installed 1,482 heating measures, offering crucial support to those struggling to heat their homes and saving vulnerable residents approximately £1.5 million.
The scheme offers a range of energy-saving solutions including air source heat pumps, loft insulation, external wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, solar PV, and under-floor insulation.
Eligible residents can access these upgrades at no cost, thanks to full funding from various organisations committed to reducing carbon emissions and tackling fuel poverty.
The scheme is aimed at households that are off-gas, with a gross annual income below £36,000 or those receiving income-related means-tested benefits or households with members suffering from long-term illnesses such as cardiovascular problems, respiratory issues, limited mobility, or weakened immune systems.
Residents need to fill out an application form before the end of October. A survey will then be conducted to determine the most suitable upgrades for each home.

“It also helps to reduce the county’s carbon footprint. As we approach the scheme’s closing date, I urge all eligible residents to apply and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to improve their home’s energy efficiency.”
With the scheme closing on 18 October 2024, eligible residents are urged to apply as soon as possible.
