As Hickory’s Smokehouse get ready to swing open the doors of their new restaurant & neighbourhood bar we take a sneak peek at what guests can expect from their first Staffordshire Smokehouse!
From the moment you arrive it feels more Southern States than Staffordshire. Taking inspiration from the places they have visited, you will find lots of authentic, Southern style design ideas and quirky personal touches, inspired by over 20 trips across the Southern States. Hickory’s is set to be a fantastic addition to the local dining and drinking scene.
What makes this opening so is exciting for the local community is that Hickory’s is for everyone, from ‘no teeth to false teeth’. They have tried to think about the whole family when designing their Stafford restaurant – with a range of seating from cosy booths to larger tables for groups and extended families to enjoy. Guests are equally welcome for drinks in the bar as they are for dining and sports fans will love the multiple large screens for all the sporting action.
For BBQ fans the Chef’s Bar has been revamped – quite possibly the best seat in the house & the chefs might even lift the lid on a few pitmaster secrets. Best of all you’ll have a view of our slow smoked Texas style brisket.
And they haven’t forgotten the younger guests either! There’s a safe, secure outside play area, an interactive Fro-Co (frozen custard) and their signature cinema where the kids can enjoy a movie in style, whilst the grown-ups kick-back and enjoy some good old fashioned Southern hospitality.
Food wise, it’s all about the BBQ! The menu is packed full of the flavours of the Deep South, with classic smokehouse dishes such as Memphis ribs, Texas-style brisket and BBQ pulled pork all smoked low ‘n’ slow in-house in “Ole Hickory” and “Southern Pride” smokers – which have made it across the Atlantic and have taken pride of place in the smoker room. And there are plenty for non-smokers too too including, burgers, subs, steaks, and fajitas, alongside a selection of vegetarian options.
Plus, there’s also enjoy a range of quirky desserts, milkshakes, sodas, cocktails & a collection of over 25 bourbons to try, easy-drinking session ales and a selection of bottles & craft beers.
Why was Stafford chosen? Quote from John Welsh (MD) – “We are delighted to be coming to Stafford, we have been looking at the area for a while & now felt like the right time. Hickory’s Stafford will be located at the heart of some of our most popular restaurants in Shrewsbury, Gresty Green near Crewe, Derby & the Midlands. We’ve spent time getting to know the area, everyone has been so welcoming so coming to Stafford is genuinely exciting for us all. Our ambition is to create something truly special, and we are looking forward to becoming part of the community for many years to come.”
When is it opening?
Hickory’s Stafford is set to open next Monday 2nd December, however a little bird told us that if all the paint is dry and the smokers are ready to go, they may open a little earlier than that, so keep your eyes on social media and follow then on Facebook HERE
