OPEN NOW: Popeyes® fans in Stoke queued from 3:30pm the day before opening to get a taste of the legendary Chicken Sandwich
Friday 26th September – Popeyes® UK, the New Orleans fried chicken restaurant, officially opened its first-ever Stoke-on-Trent restaurant at Festival Retail Park this morning.
The new Stoke-on-Trent restaurant opened its doors at 11am, bringing the vibrant spirit of New Orleans to Staffordshire with a ribbon cutting ceremony and exclusive merch giveaways.
The launch marks the first Popeyes® restaurant in the region and saw fans starting to queue up from 3:30pm the afternoon before launch to get a taste of the world famous Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich.
A family from Stoke-on-Trent were the first in the queue, arriving at 3:30pm yesterday. Parents Daniel and Sarah said: “We’ve not tried Popeyes before, but have been wanting to try it for a while after seeing the opening in Manchester! We love spicy food, so can’t wait to taste the Spicy Chicken Sandwich.”
Their daughter, Sophie, added: “We first found out about the launch on Instagram and decided to come to the opening ever since. It’s been great meeting people in the queue, and we’re looking forward to trying the Chicken Sandwich and Milkshakes.”
With both dine-in and takeaway options available, fried chicken fans in the city can now experience Popeyes® fan-favourites like the iconic Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps from the new restaurant.
All of Popeyes® chicken is halal and marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘shatter-crunch’.
From Saturday 27th September, Popeyes® Brekkie menu will also be available from 8am until 10am every day, featuring British breakfast classics with a New Orleans twist. The menu even includes a Breakfast meal deal for just £1.99, consisting of the Bacon Roll, a Cajun Hash Brown and a drink.
Tom Crowley, Popeyes® UK CEO, said: “Today marks another milestone as we open our very first Staffordshire location. Festival Retail Park is the perfect place to bring our iconic Chicken Sandwich and we’re excited to welcome the local community with a taste of New Orleans.”
The new restaurant will be located at Festival Way, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent and brings 70 new jobs to the local area. Plans include 78 seats inside, self-service kiosks and collection points for orders made online via the Popeyes® UK website or official app.
