One such volunteer, Alan Heath has been part of the Alton Village Hall team for more than 30 years. Now retired, he is an active member of the committee helping with events and fundraising.
Alan says: “My son bought a new home through part exchange at Alverton View, just a short walk from the village hall. He was delighted with his purchase and said the house developer Walton Homes were a local company who were super helpful and approachable, I popped into the marketing suite on site to see if they could help and was so grateful for their positive response, it means such a lot.
“With Walton Homes generous contribution we were able to purchase essential new lighting just in time for the darker autumn nights. As well as a LED backdrop curtain for our stage which will help us achieve our goal of being able to host local theatre and cinema screening events for our community.”
