The Leader of Staffordshire County Council has responded to news that Walleys Quarry Ltd, the operators of Walleys Quarry landfill, has gone into liquidation.
Alan White said: “While the Environment Agency remains the principal regulator for the landfill site, Staffordshire County Council is the waste planning authority and will offer relevant advice to the Liquidator where needed.
“We also continue to monitor the public health situation in the area, as the effects of emissions remains a source of concern in the community.”
