Halloween, the night where spirits rise and walk the world again, really should be a night that only adults brave. Not only does it have a premise of horror, but the glut of the horror genre that we get to enjoy is only suitable for adults. Over the last few years, more and more venues and event hosts have begun to realise this, creating a whole host of adults-only occasions at this most spooky time of year.
There are loads of great ways to enjoy Halloween across the UK in 2025, but if you want to stay closer to home, or even just stay home altogether, these are the Staffordshire-set Halloween nights to explore.
Immersing Yourself in the Horrors of Halloween

Much like last year, the first place to look for a great time close to Halloween is the Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat. Last year, they defied convention with a Halloween Masquerade Ball. With this, the venue did away with the gore and leaned into the glamour, offering an arrival cocktail and a three-course dinner with the party. On 25 October 2025, Moddershall Oaks will circle back to a more traditional night of horror.
Taking place the Saturday before Halloween in 2025, Sinister: A Murder Mystery will immerse guests in a thrilling mystery centred on an enigmatic scientist and the strange, creepy noises erupting from the house. Along with the murder mystery entertainment, for £56 each, guests get an arrival drink and a three-course dinner for the evening event. Over in Stoke-on-Trent, a surprise event is on the horizon.
At the time of writing, the final landing spot had yet to be revealed. Still, the 70-ticket event Plot Twist: Halloween Special is certainly generating some buzz. For adults only and £8 per ticket, there’ll be two bands and two DJs to entertain the exclusive crowd, with everyone being encouraged to arrive in their spookiest attire. It’ll culminate in the showrunners awarding best-dressed for the night.
Staying in for a Full-on Night of Horror

Even if you don’t fancy venturing out into Staffordshire for a night of Halloween fun, you can enjoy plenty of new entertainment that’s perfect for the season of spooks. Just about every entertainment platform is already rolling out its line of horror goodies for those who want to lean into Halloween from home. This is everywhere, from online streaming platforms to online gaming sites.
Looking at the range of new games available at the home of video slots, just on the day of writing, The Grim Reaper, Reign of Anubis, White Witch Fire Blaze Classics, Giselle: The Fortune Witch, and 3 Skulls of VooDoo headlined the collection. These new slots have all arrived to meet the demand for horror content at this time of year. For a more traditional Halloween horror experience, one platform has leapt well ahead of its peers.
Streaming platforms tend to have plenty of horror movies and the odd horror series in stock, be they classics or new releases. However, the one platform that truly goes all-in at Halloween and is hailed for the quality of so much of its exclusive film library is Shudder. In October 2025, the platform will again go big on bringing back classics and releasing new flicks, including V/H/S/Halloween, O.T.H.E.R., and Hell House LLC: Lineage.
