NEW VIC BORDERLINES HOST EMPOWERING WEEKLY WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG WOMEN

New Vic Borderlines’ Girls Can project aims to empower and amplify young voices, foster new friendships and allow creative arts, drama and leadership skills to flourish.

The free weekly workshop designed specifically for girls aged 10-12 and living in Bentilee is aiming to inspire young women to explore their identity, build confidence and encourage self-expression.

Taking place at the Bentilee Family Hub on Mondays from 4.00-5.30pm, young women are invited to share their experiences and have their voices heard in an open, safe and accessible environment.

The Girls Can project provides a platform for participants to freely discuss their individual perspectives as young women growing up in the local community through creative forms including drawing, singing, drama, photography and mixed media.

By engaging with specialist creative practitioners, the group have the opportunity to explore personal ideas and aspirations through a variety of creative means, allowing participants to embrace their individual potential in a safe and open space.

Girls Can sessions are free to attend, and free refreshments are available for participants. For more information, email ohope@newvictheatre.org.uk or call 07597 378999 to find out more and to sign up.
